The two websites for my Good/Bad Website smackdown were Math.com and IXL.com. I chose these two math websites because math, ironically enough, has been a nemesis of mine. When I was retaking my math courses at community college, I searched high and low for a comprehensive, easy to follow math website that could answer or assist me with my coursework. Finding a good website was exhausting. I decided to use Math.com as my bad website. I found it to be visually unappealing and left me a little bored. The formatting, color and the actual problems left me feeling unsatisfied. ILX.com was my good website. It’s bright and colorful! Loaded with different math problems for many grade levels and beautifully laid out. Two of the social media tools that I chose were Instagram and Pinterest. I’m a Facebook girl, from what I’ve read that is a typical social media preference for my generation. Instagram was mentioned quite a few times by other students, and it peaked my curiosity. I thought I would give it a shot. It was super easy to create an account and I was instantly able to connect with businesses that peaked my interest along with friends and family. There are pictures posted that I never knew existed and boom! instant business announcements. Instagram is clean, easy to read and interact. I would definitely use this social media tools as another way or communication and a great marketing tool. Personally, within minutes, I have quite a few requests to connect. My second choice is Pinterest. I love Pinterest and can’t say enough.
